Who We Are
I am David Prestidge, owner of Cabin Keepers. I have worked in the construction industry my entire career, starting from when I built decks during college breaks.
Just before the pandemic, my wife and I bought a cabin in the Lost City area. We renovated it ourselves over a period of four years.
When life became busy again and offices opened up in 2022, we realised that we do not have as much time to spend at the cabin as we wanted to. Every time that there was a storm or snow, we needed to drive up to make sure that the cabin was ok. We needed help with maintenance like checking mouse traps or cleaning gutters, and getting the cabin ready if we had not been there for a while. And, getting things delivered to the cabin took a whole day that required a vehicle specialized for that purpose. If only we could borrow a trailer!
We spoke to other cabin owners in the area and realized that many felt the same.
Also, with the renovation, we amassed shelves full of tools that are now gathering dust and that others may be able to use. Out of this was born the idea to start Cabin Keepers to help all cabin owners in the Trout Pond, Lost City, Lost River, Wardensville, and Mathias areas of Hardy County in West Virginia.
